Affiliate Marketing for Creative Entrepreneurs

As a graphic designer and entrepreneur, it’s a great idea to have multiple streams of income.

When you own your own business, you never know what could happen. You may lose clients, you may lose your social media and followers, you just never know. With multiple income streams, you don’t have to depend on only one source of income. That’s where affiliate marketing comes in.

Affiliate marketing is an excellent source of extra income. There’s no limit to how much extra income you can make. When sharing products and services you already use and love, why not make some extra money at the same time?

As you share products as an affiliate, you’re also promoting designers, artists, and other entrepreneurs which enables them to keep creating their products and doing what they love too.

There are many ways to talk about and share products. Writing a blog post, sharing on your social media, and posting on your website/blog are just a few ideas. You can use your referral code as a link, a button, or a banner. Always make sure to disclose when you are using affiliate links though.

Below are some of my favorite affiliate marketing programs for graphic designers, bloggers, social media managers, and other creative entrepreneurs.

Creative Market

COMMISSION RATE: 15% for new customers and 5% for existing customers

Creative Market is one of my favorite places to find fonts, graphics, mockups, templates, and other design elements. There are so many high-quality products on the website, you’re bound to find ones you love! (I even sell my own products through Creative Market).

Creative Market has a great affiliate program too! Earn commission on any new or returning customer purchases made within 30 days. The partner program offers a 15% commission on new customer purchases and a 5% commission on existing customer purchases made on Creative Market within 30 days of the referral. You can embed their products, use their pre-made banners, or simply use a link. On each product page, your own code will appear, so all you have to do is copy and past it where you want to use it.

I personally promote Creative Market products mostly on my Pinterest account. I have success in promoting my own products on Pinterest, so I figure there’s no better place to promote others as well!

You can even use your earning towards products you want to purchase for yourself, which I do often. This referral program is definitely one I will keep on using!

Thrivecart

COMMISSION RATE: 50% per referral

Thrivecart lets you create high-converting cart pages, funnels, affiliate campaigns, courses, and more! I recently just switched from Shopify to Thrivecart to sell my digital products.

When you are approved to become an affiliate for Thrivecart, you earn 50% commissions! That is the highest commission rate I have seen!

Dubsado

COMMISSION RATE: $35 per referral

If you use Dubsado, you know that it’s a great business management tool.

You can use Dubsado to sign contracts, collect payments, send custom forms, and get your time back with powerful workflows — all in one place.

You’ll get $35 whenever someone clicks on your affiliate link, signs up for a paid Dubsado subscription, and remains subscribed for at least 60 days.

By clicking your affiliate link, your referral also gets a discount! They’ll get 20% off their first payment on a Dubsado Starter or Premier plan. If they pay monthly, they’ll get 20% off the first month. If they pay annually, they’ll get 20% off for the entire first year.

Moyo Studio

COMMISSION RATE: 20% of sales

Moyo Studio provides professional and aesthetic mockups. I have purchased their mockups many times and am always impressed by how professional they look and how easy they are to use.

And guess what…they also have an affiliate program!

Get 20% commissions of sales. They also have a huge 90 day cookie period!

Flodesk

COMMISSION RATE: $19 per referral

Flodesk is a fantastic digital marketing service provider that’s built for creators, by creators. You can use it to design and send on-brand marketing emails, create high converting sales and checkout pages, publish opt-in forms to grow your list, and build powerful email automations.

With their affiliate program, earn $19 per referral, and your referral will get 50% their first subscription year!

Flodesk also has a “success kit” that shows you different ways to advertise and use you affiliate link. They also have premade graphics you can use!

Showit

COMMISSION RATE: free month per new user

First off, if you’re not already using Showit, what are you doing?! Showit is such a user-friendly website design platform that requires no coding. Everything is drag and drop!

I used it to design this website along with the website templates I sell in my shop.

With Showit’s referral program, you get a free month credit for each new user you refer (on first payment). They also get a free month!

Each new Showit user you refer will get their first month free, and you’ll earn a free month after their first payment.

TIP: Add a resources page to your website

Adding a resource page lets you share all of your favorite websites, programs, apps, and other resources all in one spot. You can then add your affiliate links to start making passive income.
