As an Etsy seller, it can be hard to grow an email list. This can be especially true if you don’t have your own website and only sell on Etsy. Etsy doesn’t let you collect email addresses so how are you supposed to grow your mailing list?
It’s a lot easier than you might think!

So what did I do to help grow my email list? I added an opt-in image to the end of my Etsy listings!
One of the things I sell in my Etsy shop is Instagram story stickers. So at the end of these listings, I added an image that says,” Would you like 5 extra free Instagram stickers?” I then added a link at the beginning of the item description (so it’s easy for people to find) to a landing page to sign up to get the free stickers. How easy is that?!
And let me tell you, it works!!
Before I did this, I had literally like 5 email subscribers. Seriously! And one of them was my mom and another my boyfriend. It can be hard to grow an email list when starting out!
This has gotten me 163 email subscribers from this opt-in alone in the last couple months. And I know that’s not ground breaking, but it’s better than only having 5 subscribers.
Now you may be saying, “That’s great and all, but I sell physical items. I can’t give products away for free!”
Another opt-in idea is to offer a discount code for people who sign up. Then add the opt-in link at the beginning of your item description. This could be the deciding factor that makes someone want to buy from your shop!
It’s easy, I promise!
